Wait for event
Pause a run until an event arrives for the same contact, or a timeout passes.
How it works
Add a Wait for event step. Under Event, choose the event to wait for; under Timeout in, enter how long to wait, for example 3 days (a new step starts at 1 week). The timeout can be at most 30 days.
The step has two paths: Event received, taken when your app sends the event for the same contact before the timeout, and the timeout path, taken otherwise. Each run takes exactly one of them.
json
{"event":"purchase.completed","email":"you@example.net","payload":{}}Things to know
- Only runs that are already waiting when the event arrives resume. An event sent earlier does not count.
- The event must be for the same contact in the same team.
- Waits cannot filter on the payload.
- After the wait,
event.*still refers to the trigger's payload. The payload of the event that ended the wait is stored in the step's output.
