Contact steps

Update contact

Under Add field to update, choose a property (First name, Last name, Unsubscribed, or a custom property), choose Change to or Clear, enter a value or pick an event.<property>, and click Add. The fields appear under Fields to update. The email address cannot be changed.

Delete contact

Deletes the run's contact when the step runs. It has no settings and cannot be undone.

Add to segment

Choose a Segment. The contact is added to it; a contact already in the segment stays as it is.

Trigger → Update contact → Add to segment

Things to know

• These steps use the same rules as editing a contact in the dashboard, and fire contact.updated or contact.deleted when something changes.
• There is no step to remove a contact from a segment or to change topic subscriptions.
