Domains

Regions

Choose the AWS region a domain sends from.

How it works

Every domain lives in one AWS region, chosen when you add it. Opensend offers us-east-1, eu-west-1, sa-east-1, and ap-northeast-1. The installation administrator decides which of them are set up, in Amazon SES settings; the Region list in Add domain shows only regions that are ready.

Through the API, pass region when you create a domain. Without it, the installation's default region is used.

Things to know

  • Sending quotas and the SES sandbox are per region. Request production access for each region you send from.
  • Receiving can be turned on only in regions where Amazon SES receives mail.
  • A domain cannot move to another region. To change regions, delete the domain and add it again.
